The Queens Chamber of Commerce presented The Jamaica Hospital Medical Center’s New Trump Pavilion Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with its highly regarded Building Award at the 97th Annual Building Awards & Reception on Thursday, December 3, 2009, recognizing the excellence of the new building and its importance in enhancing the Jamaica, Queens neighborhood. Selected from over 100 entries, the Trump Pavilion project won first place in the New Construction, Health Related Facility category. Opened in July 2009, the new 226-bed nursing home is a bright new facility with the latest amenities, ample windows, a four-story sunlit atrium, and a contextually appropriate residential exterior.

The Building Awards & Reception, held at Terrace on the Park in Flushing, Queens, recognized building projects that have made the borough a more beautiful place. RBSD received an award for architecture for the New Trump Pavilion project; Barr & Barr received an award as the project’s contractor; and The Jamaica Hospital Medical Center was presented with an award as the Building Owner. Principal-in-Charge William B. Selan and Project Manager Laszlo D. Vienne were on hand at the awards reception to accept the award for RBSD.
